Doodles & Brain Noodles #001
Things I’ve been thinking about, seeing, hearing, reading, etc.
Rauschenberg, R. (2025). I don’t think about being great: Selected writings (F. Snyder, Ed.). Yale University Press.
The Sketchbook
My sketchbook sometimes feels like the most daunting part of making art. It’s raw, messy, and totally random. It forces me to express myself freely, without editing or overthinking.
But that’s also the kind of work I find the most interesting from other artists—when nothing is polished. I love seeing the building blocks: the throwaway doodles, the notes, the stuff that seems inconsequential but clearly isn’t. You can always spot patterns and connections between the “random” things artists notice, write about, obsess over, and the final pieces they put out.
So I figured, if it’s something I love seeing from other people, it’s only fair I contribute to that pool of fun, chaotic mess.
