Description
Scaffold 05.20.26.20.04 grew out of my preoccupation with the moments between, the transition points we so often rush through without pausing to feel their weight. I wanted the painting to hold that tension visibly: hot reds and electric magentas pressing against a quiet black interior, geometric scaffolding that anchors what might otherwise dissolve into pure feeling. I was heavily influenced by Van Gogh’s movement; the pink gestures, small, alive, insistent, and I kept coming back to his markings as a reminder that meaning lives in the marks as much as the composition. What emerged is a canvas that sits at an intersection, neither fully in one place nor the next, and asks you to stay there a moment.
